Associated Ledgers

Associated Ledgers

We have introduced Associated Ledgers for line of credit (LOC) accounts, allowing you to attach one or more balance accounts to an LOC without altering that account’s primary balance. Each ledger is powered by LoanPro's Ledger service as the system of record, while LMS manages the configuration and metadata.

This is Phase 1 of a multi-step rollout. Key callouts:

  • Associated Ledgers is currently only available for LOC accounts. Associated Ledgers for loan and lease accounts will arrive at a later date.
  • The feature is accessible through the UI and API.

How can I use it?

You can use Associated Ledgers to directly manage collateral deposits, reserves, or shadow balances alongside an LOC account. Additionally, you can configure contributing ledgers to dynamically calculate and drive an account's primary credit limit based on their real-time balances and custom multipliers.

Where can I find it?

There are several ways to access and configure Associated Ledgers.

  • Program Defaults: Access Programs > select a program > Options > Associated Ledgers.
  • Bucket Credit Limit Strategy: Access Programs > select a program > Finance Charge & Transactions > Buckets > select a bucket > Credit Limit > Calculate from associated ledgers.
  • Account Ledger List: Access LOC account > Account Settings > Associated Ledgers.
  • Ledger Detail (Transactions + History): Access LOC account > Account Settings > Associated Ledgers > select ledger.
  • Credit Limit Recalculation: Access Tools > Credit Limit Adjustments > Calculate from Ledger.

How can I test it?

You can test the Associated Ledgers feature within the LMS and via API.

Within the LMS:

  1. Navigate to Programs > select a program > Options > Associated Ledgers.
  2. Click the ‘Add ledger’ button to create a default ledger with credit limit contribution enabled and a multiplier configured.
  3. Create a new LOC account associated with the Program.
  4. Within the created LOC account, navigate to Account Settings > Associated Ledgers to confirm the default ledger was automatically provisioned.
  5. Select the ledger and use the Add Entry action to post a deposit or withdrawal, then confirm the updated balance and review the entry in the Transaction Log.
  6. Access Tools > Credit Limit Adjustments and select the ‘Calculate from Ledger’ button to see the projected credit limit. Click Save to apply it.
  7. After Daily Maintenance completes, check the ledger's Balance History by navigating to LOC Account > Account Settings > Associated Ledgers > Balance History.

Via API:

  1. View All Ledgers: Send a GET request to {base}/odata.svc/LineOfCreditAssociatedLedgers?$filter=lineOfCreditId eq {locId} to view the list of Associated Ledgers on an account.
  2. Check Provisioning Status: Send a GET request to {base}/LineOfCredits({locId})/AssociatedLedgers/ProvisioningStatus to verify the provisioning state and confirm the assigned ledgerIdentifier.
  3. Post a Transaction: Send a POST request to {base}/LineOfCredits({locId})/AssociatedLedgers/{ledgerIdentifier}/Transactions with direction, amount, description, and effective date to post an entry and verify the updated currentBalance in the response.
  4. Review Transaction Log: Send a GET request to {base}/LineOfCredits({locId})/AssociatedLedgers/{ledgerIdentifier}/TransactionLog?from={date}&until={date} to verify the recorded transaction and running balance.
  5. Preview Credit Limit: Send a GET request to {base}/LineOfCredits({locId})/AssociatedLedgers/CreditLimitPreview to see the projected calculation.
  6. Recalculate Credit Limit: Send a POST request to {base}/LineOfCredits({locId})/AssociatedLedgers/RecalculateCreditLimit to apply the recalculation.
  7. Retrieve Balance History: Send a GET request to {base}/LineOfCredits({locId})/AssociatedLedgers/{ledgerIdentifier}/BalanceHistory?from={date}&until={date} after Daily Maintenance completes to verify snapshot data.
